Tell me a little about yourself, what you do, and where your love of cars originated.
I grew up in an entrepreneurial and car family, with my grandfather owning a dealership, and my father having a company that mainly made software for Ford. I quickly became interested in cars at a young age. Before I was 16, I would find any chance I could get to drive go karts, golf carts, ATVs, etc.. When it was time for college, I decided on the Mechanical Engineering program at Ohio State, thinking I would follow my dream to become an engineer in a car-related business. After the first year of school, I quickly learned that it wouldn’t be as hands-on as I would have hoped. I instead wanted to use my entrepreneurial spirit in a different way, while still being hands-on. I am now a Dentist with two practices and commercial real estate. It provides me the satisfaction of treating patients and creating new smiles, while also giving me the freedom to drive these types of cars. In my most recent venture, I founded an innovative online car marketplace platform with a friend, which is a completely new concept that we are extremely excited about, and will be going live soon!
Tell me about the GT3, RS4, and M3. What makes them so special, and what drew you to them in the first place?
Although they are all 6-speed manual, high-revving, and German, they are very different to drive and special in their own ways. They are all enthusiast picks for a reason, and "if you know, you know." All 3 have been specific dream cars for me at different times in my life, and I have to pinch myself when I see all 3 together.
Best road-trip or driving journey in the cars?
I have a decent amount of track time, which is absolutely exhilarating – but sometimes just the Sunday drives with friends are unrivaled. My ultimate driving high was driving on the Autobahn about 8 years ago
Has the dramatic increase in collectible car values changed the way you see your cars or do miles and dollar figures leave your mind when you are behind the wheel?
I buy my cars to drive them. Cars in general are normally a heavily depreciating asset, so if they appreciate in value during ownership, I won’t complain!
Where do you go for automotive content & education? Favorite shows, magazines, websites, etc?
I’ll be honest – I rarely watch YouTube or read articles. Most of my content comes from a group text with 2 friends who know a lot more than I do. I like to stay relatively up-to-date on automotive news, but actual driving is my true passion.
Other hobbies or interests outside of cars?
As an entrepreneur, I like to stay busy – challenges excite me. Besides cars and work, I enjoy socializing and meeting new people, traveling, golfing, and playing drums.
